President's Message

Welcome to the 12th International Contact Lens Congress, to be held in the beautiful Sea World Resort on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The research and advances made in optometry but particularly in the contact lens field allows the day to day practicing of optometry to be exciting and interesting. To utilize all that is available to the practitioner, current knowledge is essential. Through the tireless work of the organizing committee and with the greatly appreciated sponsors’ contributions the Congress is sure to be informative and fun.

This year the Congress will present a wide choice of topics that include Specialty CL Fittings, RGPs and Ortho-K, Myopia, Therapeutics and Dry Eye and Business/Practice Building to name but a few. Again the ICLC has attracted well respected speakers from Australia and around the world to deliver this information in an interesting and entertaining manner. The Contact Lens Society of Australia awards research grants every year to predominantly PhD students. Some of the work-in-progress will also be presented at the Congress ensuring you hear the very cutting edge of information.

And if all that is not enough to entice you, the well located Sea World Resort offers opportunities for you and your family to enjoy some of Sea World’s attractions and the greater Gold Coast area. Even the Congress Dinner on the Saturday evening will be held within the Theme Park with the Dolphin Cove Show and magnificent dinner in the Paradise Room. There can be no better location to bring the whole family; whether your partner is male or female and the children young or old everyone is bound to enjoy the location!
