Aims

The Institute for Eye Research Limited is an Australian company dedicated to the advancement of eye care research, education and industry.  Over 20 years the Institute has contributed to some of the best in Australian eye care, and has grown to be a major participant and supporter of Australian eye care research and education organisations.

The Institute for Eye Research aims to:

• Support, consult, conduct and co-ordinate scientific research relating to vision including detection, diagnosis, causes, prevention, cure, and correction of abnormalities of the eye and vision system.
• Integrate their work with eye research and educational programmes undertaken by other organisations.

The Institute for Eye Research undertakes and funds a range of research projects directed towards improved understanding and the development of new vision correction products and systems. 

The Institute also contributes to the development of teaching materials and educational programmes in the eye care area.  The programmes target a range of audiences including the scientific community, practitioners, educators and the public; and contribute to technology transfer, improved eye care services and the promotion of eye care awareness throughout the world.
